Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in senior living preferred
  • availability for part-time shifts between 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm
  • ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks related to waitstaff duties
  • willingness to learn and undergo training
  • legal authorization to work in the United States

  • Prior experience in senior living dining environments preferred
  • strong customer service and communication skills
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to handle specialized diets and allergens
  • proficiency in multitasking and working under pressure
  • ability to work collaboratively with a team
  • basic cash-handling skills

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
  • deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • follow up periodically to assist with additional needs or requests
  • demonstrate a complete understanding of menu items and ingredients
  • advise guests on appropriate food and drink combinations when requested
  • accommodate reasonable requests and note preferences
  • demonstrate knowledge of specialized diets and allergens as needed
  • communicate directly with kitchen staff to ensure orders are accurate and special requests are met
  • exhibit exceptional communication skills and patience with guests and staff
  • collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • promote a clean, safe, and neat environment
  • maintain confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
  • promptly address complaints or issues and inform supervisors
  • ensure dining room setup before and after service and maintain sanitation standards
  • operate various equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, and beverage machines
  • collaborate with other department staff during special events and functions
  • perform other assigned duties
