Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience preferred but not required
  • ability to meet scheduled work hours including early mornings
  • ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • willingness to wear provided uniform and safety shoes
  • ability to follow instructions and procedures related to food service and safety
  • legal authorization to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a waiter or waitress role preferred but not required
  • willingness and ability to learn and be trained
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices a plus
  • ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • customer service oriented
  • reliable and punctual work ethic
  • basic math skills for cash handling

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
  • deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients and advise guests on food and drink combinations
  • communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure order accuracy and accommodate special requests
  • collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • promote a clean, safe and neat environment for guests
  • promptly address complaints or issues and relay information to supervisor
  • ensure the dining room is properly set up before and after service
  • operate various equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
  • work with staff from other departments during special events and functions
  • perform other duties as assigned
