Job Requirements

  • able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • basic literacy and numeracy skills
  • willingness to adhere to food safety and sanitation protocols
  • ability to stand for extended periods

  • ability to follow instructions
  • legal authorization to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior experience in food and beverage service is advantageous but not required
  • strong communication and customer service skills
  • ability to learn and understand menu items and ingredients
  • capability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • basic math skills for handling transactions
  • ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards is a plus
  • patience and a friendly demeanor with guests and colleagues

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
  • deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • follow up periodically to assist guests with additional needs or requests
  • demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients and advise guests on food and drink combinations
  • accommodate reasonable requests and note guest preferences including specialized diets and allergens
  • communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure orders are accurate and special requests are met
  • exhibit exceptional communication skills and get along well with others
  • remain flexible and patient when interacting with guests and staff
  • collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests
  • maintain confidentiality regarding personal or medical information shared
  • promptly address complaints or issues and relay information to supervisor
  • ensure dining room is set up properly before and after service and maintain cleanliness and sanitation
  • operate equipment such as fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
  • collaborate with other departments during special events and functions
  • perform other duties as assigned
