Job Requirements
- Must be currently enrolled as a student at the University of Oklahoma
- Attach a Spring 2026 Week at a Glance style class schedule
- Must be 18 years or older
- Ability to persevere physically and mentally in fast-paced work
- Willingness to work under exposure to greasy, dirty materials and slippery floors
- Frequent and repetitive arm and wrist movement
- Exposure to chemicals and noxious odors
- Ability to lift up to 58 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds
- Ability to stand or walk for long periods in varied temperature environments
- Climb stairs as needed
- Availability to work at least 3 days per week between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
- Comply with university health protocols including tuberculosis testing if selected
Job Qualifications
- Currently enrolled as a student at the University of Oklahoma for the Spring Term
- Skilled in safe, sanitary, and effective handling of food and kitchen equipment
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Effective communication skills in English, both oral and written
- Ability to read and interpret routine materials such as menus, instructions, and emails
- Physical ability to climb stairs and perform tasks involving bending, lifting, stooping, pushing, pulling, and carrying based on job assignment
Job Duties
- Serve food in a courteous and respectful manner with proper portion control and menu knowledge
- Load, carry, and transport hot or cold food to customers, serving lines, or dining tables safely and efficiently
- Load and transport food carts to and from designated floor units
- Wash, sanitize, and store pots, pans, and kitchen utensils
- Scrape dishes and clean tables and serving areas
- Clean counters and floors following proper kitchen standards
- Assist with special events and support other food services staff when necessary
- Operate a cash register and adhere to payment-handling processes when required
