Job Requirements

  • Complete a background investigation Tier 1 Level with favorable results
  • Obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and or complete food handler's training
  • Meet minimum age requirements for serving alcoholic beverages
  • Be physically able to stand stoop bend and walk for long periods of time
  • Be able to frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 10 pounds
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Be a U.S. citizen or a Non-U.S. national who has resided in the U.S. Territory for three or more consecutive years
  • Register for Selective Service if male applicant born after December 31 1959
  • Be able to provide REAL ID or authorized combination of identity documents for installation access
  • Successfully complete employment verification E-Verify
  • Meet probationary and pre-employment requirements prior to entrance on duty

Job Qualifications

  • Experience or training in proper food handling and serving techniques
  • Knowledge of food menu items and wine selection for various foods sufficient to explain to customer
  • Ability to follow cash handling procedures
  • Ability to make simple mathematical computations and prepare checks for patrons
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Physical ability to stand stoop bend and walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 10 pounds
  • Must meet minimum age requirements for serving alcoholic beverages

Job Duties

  • Discuss menu with supervisor and familiarize self with menu prior to opening
  • Secure clean linens and silverware depending on the menu and food to be served
  • Set assigned tables spreading clean linens and placing glasses condiment holders flowers candles or lamps and silverware on table
  • Prepare side tables with silverware bowls of ice and other extras required during the meal
  • Receive guests and take orders
  • Write guests orders answer questions regarding food and beverages or make suggestions about dishes and beverages
  • Work according to rigid time schedule secure food from kitchen and place dishes by course in front of each person
  • Continue to provide service as needed and requested by guests
  • Provide guests with check who may pay cashier or the waiter to elect to sign the dining room guest check when authorized
  • Remove soiled dishes glasses and silverware or request food service worker to do so
  • Perform cleaning duties as time permits such as sweeping mopping etc in assigned area or cleaning entryways
  • Perform dishwashing or other functions in an emergency
  • Knowledge of proper food handling and serving techniques
  • Knowledge of food menu items sufficient to explain to customer
  • Skill in table-setting techniques
  • Work accomplished according to standards of efficiency propriety etiquette and timeliness
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
