Job Duties
- Follow a predetermined menu to prepare top-notch food and pastries
- put together a daily report ensuring the accuracy of transactions and meal planning
- understand the elements that make up a meal to confirm their inclusion
- store food correctly to prevent contamination and spoilage
- deliver food to patrons as per scheduled meal times and establishment regulations
- apply and maintain culinary utensils, with a focus on blades
- ensure food items and beverages are prepared promptly
- enhance the visual appeal of meals through garnishing
- provide help with the sanitation of refrigeration units, freezers, and cooking and serving devices
- uphold all requirements related to food safety including hygiene, handling procedures, and storage protocols
- comply with uniform regulations at all times
- engage in daily interaction with the manager to plan the day’s menu
- ensure foods are stored and served at the correct temperatures
- maintain cleanliness and organization in work and storage areas
- keep work areas clean and disinfected including steam tables, countertops, and machinery
- implement cleanliness procedures such as sweeping, mopping, and dishwashing
- ensure that garbage is collected and kitchen floors are kept clean
- fulfill other duties as required including aiding in different kitchen departments
