Job Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in fine dining or country club waiting
- ability to read and follow recipe instructions and diet orders
- willingness to perform repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions
- patience and tolerance towards staff residents and families
- ability to develop interpersonal relationships
- strong problem solving skills
- good organizational skills
- effective communication skills
- willing to receive a Hepatitis A vaccine if required
Job Qualifications
- Must have a minimum of 1 year preferably 2 to 3 years of waiting in a fine dining or country club venue
- ability to read understands and follows recipe instructions diet orders resident preference cards and work assignments
- willingness to perform routine repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions
- must be patient and tolerant toward staff residents and family members
- ability to develop constructive working and interpersonal relationships with colleagues and customers
- problem solving and decision making skills
- service orientation and excellent organizational skills
- active listening and effective communication competencies
- must have or be willing to receive a Hepatitis A vaccine if working within St. Louis County in accordance with County health regulations
Job Duties
- Provide excellent customer services that promotes satisfaction and is reflective of an upscale dining experience
- take and serve food/beverage orders timely and appropriately that is reflective of an upscale dining experience
- greet customers with courtesy and friendliness making quick decisions to address dissatisfied customers when needed
- know all details of the menu including description and allergens and able to describe to guests how each item is prepared and cooked
- make recommendations or share additional information with customers regarding the menu
- have full knowledge of all drink recipes to enter into computer software
- serve 16 or more guests at a time and recall orders upon request by guests
- check products for quality and correct any problems that may prevent a guest from enjoying their visit
- perform defined work routines using various dining service utensils supplies and equipment as assigned
- assist with any and all aspects for dining service set-up including dining room and tables/placings set-up stocking buffets and serve station preparing beverages salads and desserts and other food items as instructed and in accordance with recipes and assistance at catering events
- assist in receiving and storing food and supplies ensuring all foods are served at proper temperatures and on time
- assist with any and all aspects of clean-up to ensure all dining service areas are maintained in accordance with policies and standards by completing daily cleaning duties busing tables sweeping mopping and vacuuming washing dishes removing trash stocking and storing items correctly and keeping all dining service work areas clean
