Job Requirements
- Minimum age 18
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of company orientation, and food safety and sanitation training upon hire
- Ability to provide superior customer service

Job Duties
- Provides superior customer service
- Takes orders from customers by telephone or in person
- Answers customer questions regarding products
- Assists them with selections
- Prepares, packages, and merchandises fresh product effectively
- Slices, packages, labels, rotates, and culls products for poor quality
- Assists in technical areas such as basic set-up and clean-up processes
- Uses suggestive selling techniques and basic product knowledge to meet customer needs and build department sales
- Cleans and sanitizes display cases
- Operates and maintains equipment properly
- Complies with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards
- Complies with department and store operating procedures
- Performs additional department-specific responsibilities based on assignment such as baking and decorating in Bakery, taking care of service counter customers and inventory management in Deli, or serving and packaging products in Prepared Foods
- Ensures catering orders are prepared and ready when applicable
- Performs all sanitation and maintenance tasks for deli slicers
- Educates customers on preparation and reheating instructions of prepared foods
- Records production and shrink to aid in production planning
- Performs inventory management processes as required
