Job Requirements

  • Education or experience in volunteer coordination or related field preferred
  • ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
  • commitment to confidentiality and parish policies
  • willingness to undergo background check and complete required trainings

  • ability to motivate and encourage others

Job Qualifications

  • Active Catholic in good standing preferred, familiarity with Catholic ministry required
  • excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • ability to work collaboratively with clergy, staff, and volunteers of all ages
  • high level of professionalism, discretion, and pastoral sensitivity
  • proficiency with office software and willingness to learn parish management systems
  • experience coordinating volunteers in parish, nonprofit, or ministry setting

Job Duties

  • Develop and implement parish-wide volunteer recruitment strategy
  • promote volunteer opportunities through various communication channels
  • maintain welcoming process for new volunteers
  • match volunteers with suitable ministries
  • collaborate with ministry leaders to identify volunteer needs
  • support onboarding, training, and supervision of volunteers
  • address volunteer concerns confidentially and sensitively
  • track volunteer participation and retention
  • coordinate Safe Environment child protection requirements
  • ensure volunteer background checks and training completion
  • maintain centralized volunteer records and documentation
  • prepare reports on volunteer engagement
  • communicate regularly with volunteers and ministry leaders
  • assist with parish events relying on volunteers
  • coordinate and organize funeral luncheons including scheduling and setup
  • plan and oversee parish hospitality events
  • arrange parishioner gatherings
  • maintain hospitality supply inventory
  • create welcoming atmosphere at parish functions
