Care and Share Food Bank is a dedicated non-profit organization operating in Southern Colorado, focused on ensuring that the one in nine individuals facing hunger challenges have access to nutritious and healthy food. Job Requirements
- At least three years of experience with community outreach, event planning, or recruiting
- At least three years of scheduling experience
- At least one year of experience managing relationships
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Advanced knowledge of CERVIS or another volunteer engagement software highly preferred
- Intermediate with Raiser’s Edge or similar platform preferred
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships and trust quickly
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to resolve conflict and deescalate situations
- Excellent communication skills and comfortable speaking in front of large groups
- Must be able to receive and maintain ServSafe Food Handler Certification
- Must be able to handle prolonged periods sitting and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally
- Must possess a valid state issued driver's license and maintain a clean driving record
- Preferred to have access to a reliable personal vehicle for work-related travel
- Must maintain personal automobile insurance meeting company requirements if using personal vehicle for work
- Frequent travel throughout Southern Colorado is required
Job Qualifications

- Experience working with volunteers preferred
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Forms)
- Advanced knowledge of CERVIS or volunteer engagement software preferred
- Intermediate experience with Raiser’s Edge or similar platform preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to resolve conflict and deescalate situations
- Must be able to obtain and maintain ServSafe Food Handler Certification
Job Duties
- Maintain extensive knowledge of Care and Share’s daily operations, programs, and services
- Collaborate with department leaders to ensure adequate volunteer support and resources
- Work with leadership to ensure a first-class volunteer engagement experience and develop volunteer program systems
- Develop and implement recruiting strategies with Development and Marketing teams, including creating and posting volunteer positions
- Respond promptly to volunteer inquiries and plan participation in recruitment events
- Manage volunteer group events in coordination with the President and CEO, including scheduling and communication
- Provide tours and communicate upcoming volunteer events and recognition activities
- Seek and communicate volunteer feedback and resolve issues with leadership
- Manage lead volunteer program including selection, screening, training, and recognition
- Develop and maintain volunteer stewardship and recognition plans for lasting engagement
- Monitor and cross-reference donor database with volunteer management system
- Train volunteers with department leaders and maintain volunteer management system accuracy
- Represent Care and Share at community networking events and build strategic partnerships
