Job Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally
- ability to pass a criminal background check
- proof of TB test and hepatitis acceptance or declination
- willingness to work flexible schedule and occasional exposure to weather during travel
- mental stamina to handle stressful situations calmly
- professional and courteous demeanor
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate
- experience in volunteer recruitment and management preferred
- ability to establish effective working relationships with professional staff and public
- strong public speaking skills for community outreach
- proficiency in healthcare documentation systems such as Netsmart
- knowledge of hospice regulations
Job Duties
- Recruit new volunteers through community speaking engagements
- ensure volunteer program compliance with Medicare 5 percent volunteer hour requirement and all regulatory standards
- manage volunteer onboarding and training to facilitate timely placements
- coordinate volunteer assignments based on patient Plan of Care and document using Netsmart
- plan and execute volunteer appreciation events to enhance engagement and retention
- collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and administration to align volunteer program with agency philosophy
- maintain meticulous volunteer records and support clinical excellence
