Job Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally
  • ability to pass a criminal background check
  • proof of TB test and hepatitis acceptance or declination
  • willingness to work flexible schedule and occasional exposure to weather during travel
  • mental stamina to handle stressful situations calmly
  • professional and courteous demeanor

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate
  • experience in volunteer recruitment and management preferred
  • ability to establish effective working relationships with professional staff and public
  • strong public speaking skills for community outreach
  • proficiency in healthcare documentation systems such as Netsmart
  • knowledge of hospice regulations

Job Duties

  • Recruit new volunteers through community speaking engagements
  • ensure volunteer program compliance with Medicare 5 percent volunteer hour requirement and all regulatory standards
  • manage volunteer onboarding and training to facilitate timely placements
  • coordinate volunteer assignments based on patient Plan of Care and document using Netsmart
  • plan and execute volunteer appreciation events to enhance engagement and retention
  • collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and administration to align volunteer program with agency philosophy
  • maintain meticulous volunteer records and support clinical excellence
