Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • 1-2 years relevant experience
  • strong organizational and project management skills
  • excellent communication abilities
  • ability to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends as required
  • willingness to travel primarily within Indiana
  • ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Zoom, and CRM software
  • commitment to equity and inclusion
  • valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
  • flexible work schedule to meet program goals
  • adherence to organizational policies and confidentiality agreements

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Human Services, Public Administration, Business or Management, Psychology or Sociology or related field preferred
  • 1-2 years experience in event planning, volunteer management, or development support
  • exceptional organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills
  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • ability to engage diverse stakeholders including donors, volunteers, partners, and foster youth
  • proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Zoom, and CRM systems such as Salesforce
  • commitment to equity, inclusion, and amplifying youth voice

Job Duties

  • Execute volunteer engagement strategy based on organizational goals
  • assist in monitoring volunteer engagement budget
  • seek and maintain relationships to support volunteer opportunities
  • develop partnerships with corporations, colleges, individuals, and community groups
  • design and implement introductory engagement opportunities
  • serve as main point of contact for volunteer inquiries
  • provide timely responses to volunteer applicants
  • manage background and reference checks
  • maintain volunteer records in CRM system
  • match volunteers with appropriate opportunities and provide training
  • manage volunteer event logistics
  • partner with development team to align volunteer activities with fundraising
  • collaborate with program staff to identify volunteer needs
  • bring youth voice to volunteer opportunities
  • support volunteer opportunities across states
  • collaborate with communications team on volunteer storytelling and photography
  • provide event support for organizational events
  • recognize and steward volunteers through communications and appreciation events
  • provide continuing education training for volunteers
  • develop online volunteer engagement opportunities
  • obtain feedback from volunteers and staff via evaluations
  • generate volunteer engagement reports and metrics
  • use data to evaluate program effectiveness and satisfaction
