Job Qualifications
- High school graduate
- Graduate of an accredited college or university preferred
- Minimum of 2 years experience in recruitment and management of volunteers preferred
- Hospice or healthcare volunteer administration experience preferred
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with interdisciplinary teams and the public
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and email applications
- Confident presentation skills with ability to address groups of various sizes and conduct one-on-one training
Job Duties
- Recruit, select, train and coordinate hospice volunteers
- Demonstrate knowledge of and ensure compliance with local, state and federal laws relating to volunteer recruitment, training and retention
- Develop and promote volunteer programs collaborating with the interdisciplinary team and administration
- Provide and monitor volunteers according to the Hospice patient’s Plan of Care
- Promote agency philosophy to ensure quality of care
- Establish a public relations program to foster good working relations with volunteers and the community
- Actively recruit regularly to meet patient, community, facility and administrative needs
- Meet deadlines for monthly reports including cost savings, renewable requirements, and retention/recruiting logs
- Follow company, Medicare and state guidelines for training new volunteers and maintaining volunteer files
- Review and process volunteer documentation timely and in compliance with regulations
- Maintain volunteer hours in compliance with Medicare reimbursement requirements
- Plan and coordinate Hospice Memorial Service
- Perform duties outlined in Volunteer Coordinator Manual
- Carry out tasks assigned by Executive Director or Regional Volunteer Program Manager
