Job Requirements

  • valid class d arizona driver’s license
  • access to a personal vehicle
  • ability to attend special events meetings and make site visits
  • pre-employment alcohol drug and controlled substance testing by assignment
  • willingness to work irregular hours including evenings weekends and holidays
  • adherence to city values of knowledge respect and integrity

Job Qualifications

  • bachelor’s degree in liberal arts public relations business or public administration or related field
  • minimum of two years professional experience administering volunteer programs
  • effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to manage multiple projects and volunteers
  • experience with volunteer recruitment and training
  • proficiency in maintaining volunteer databases
  • demonstrated leadership and organizational skills
  • ability to work irregular hours including evenings weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • recruiting selecting training and supervising volunteers
  • ensuring proper volunteer placement
  • developing volunteer job descriptions and programs
  • assigning volunteer work and projects
  • reviewing work products methods and procedures
  • developing policies and procedures for volunteer management
  • training city staff on volunteer supervision
  • serving as liaison between volunteers and city staff
  • maintaining volunteer databases and tracking participation metrics
  • preparing reports and analyzing volunteer data
  • managing program budget
  • coordinating volunteer recognition activities
  • serving as the event manager on duty
  • supporting mesa arts center mission and vision
  • supervising paraprofessional and clerical staff as assigned
