Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in volunteer coordination or community engagement preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in team settings
- Proficiency with computer software and technology
- Willingness to engage in public speaking and training
- Commitment to the mission of the Regional Food Bank
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and organize workspaces
- Understanding of food safety standards and practices
- Flexibility to adapt to various volunteer schedules and needs
Job Qualifications

- Previous experience in volunteer coordination or community engagement preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to train, supervise, and motivate volunteers
- Proficiency in relevant software and technology
- Public speaking skills or willingness to develop this skill
- Knowledge of food safety practices a plus
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment
- Creativity and enthusiasm for community service
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Job Duties
- Represent the Regional Food Bank professionally and courteously to volunteers
- Foster relationships with volunteers to help the mission
- Ensure cleanliness in volunteer work areas such as break rooms and repack rooms
- Prepare and stock necessary supplies for volunteer activities
- Set up daily volunteer activities with all required materials ready
- Train and supervise volunteer groups during their work
- Keep accurate records and activity reports on product worked and volunteer participation
- Provide feedback from volunteer activities to Volunteer Center leadership
- Demonstrate enthusiasm and passion for the Regional Food Bank's mission
- Inform volunteers about other opportunities to help the Regional Food Bank including volunteering at program sites, advocating for policies that help alleviate poverty, and donating food and funds
- Greet volunteer groups
- Clean and prepare workstations and break rooms for the next volunteer group
- Maintain positive working relationships with all Regional Food Bank departments
- Assist in designing specific tasks for volunteers to enhance productivity and efficiency
- Participate in process improvement teams and recommend innovative solutions
- Adhere to food safety standards including AIB best practices
- Work in a team-based environment
- Willingness to learn and assist volunteers with GivePulse software
- Mastery of Volunteer Center talking points
- Proficiency in software and technology used by the Volunteer Center
- Proficiency in setting up and training for all volunteer projects
- Willingness to take part in public speaking training related to discussing the Regional Food Bank's mission with volunteers
- Train in one of three core competencies: Inventory, Food Safety, Protein Packaging Center, or Internal Special Events
