Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Aviation Safety or related field
  • five or more years of SMS program experience in aviation under Part 135 or Part 121 programs or equivalent education and experience
  • two plus years previous management experience preferred
  • subject to drug and/or alcohol testing per DOT/FAA requirements
  • ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
  • must maintain regular attendance
  • ability to travel up to 10%
  • strong technical proficiency
  • excellent communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation Safety or related field
  • five or more years of SMS program experience in aviation under Part 135 or Part 121 programs
  • two plus years previous management experience preferred
  • FAA Safety Management System experience preferred
  • high critical thinking and reasoning skills
  • strong attention to detail
  • strong interpersonal skills
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • excellent organizational skills
  • strong technical skills with ability to learn new software
  • proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Power BI or data modeling skills preferred
  • pilot or maintenance technician certificate preferred

Job Duties

  • Manage the daily administration of the ASAP/MSAP and FOQA programs
  • provide timely oversight of the collection of ASAP/MSAP safety reports and program data
  • lead and facilitate ERC and FMT meetings
  • manage the flow of FOQA data including processing and screening for accuracy
  • ensure secure handling, protection, and de-identification of program data
  • develop, compile and distribute analysis, trends and statistics
  • manage tracking of safety recommendations, hazards, risks, and corrective actions
  • provide oversight and maintain data collection, security, and analysis
  • collaborate with IT, Maintenance, Operations and Vendors to troubleshoot FOQA equipment
  • prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports on program data
  • participate in company safety meetings and develop safety promotional items
  • maintain policies, procedures, and best practices of the programs
  • develop and deliver annual and recurrent training
  • continuously promote program participation and just culture
