Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least two years of relevant experience
  • Minimum one year of experience in a DOE nuclear facility or hazardous materials/waste management
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DOE Q-Level Security Clearance
  • Active enrollment in the Human Reliability Program (HRP)
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and safety guidelines
  • Willingness to wear PPE including gloves, respirators, and radiation badges
  • Strong computer skills

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-Level Security Clearance as well as obtain and maintain active enrollment in the Human Reliability Program (HRP)
  • High school diploma or GED with at least two (2) years of relevant experience
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in a DOE nuclear facility or in hazardous materials/waste management
  • Experience in radiological labs or facilities preferred
  • Strong computer proficiency and ability to input and manage critical data
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and safety guidelines
  • Willingness to perform duties while wearing PPE such as gloves, respirators, and radiation badges
  • Flexibility to take on varied assignments as needed

Job Duties

  • Conduct thorough visual examinations of waste designated for transport to the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP), following established operational procedures
  • Maintain qualifications as CCP VEO1/VEO2
  • Accurately complete and review documentation related to TRU waste characterization
  • Apply knowledge of Acceptable Knowledge (AK), Data Quality Objectives, and relevant compliance standards
  • Operate safely in radiological environments using appropriate PPE and specialized equipment (e.g., radiation detectors, leak testers)
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and external stakeholders to resolve technical and operational issues
  • Uphold all training, procedural, and safety requirements to maintain qualification status
