Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • Three years of experience in technical theater operations
  • Coursework or experience in sound and lighting systems, electrical codes, and OSHA regulations
  • OSHA 30 certification required within six months of hire
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull at least 50 pounds
  • Ability to work evenings and varied environments including indoor and outdoor event spaces
  • Strong communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three years of experience in technical theater operations including sound and lighting systems
  • Coursework or experience in electrical codes and OSHA regulations
  • Strong knowledge of stage lighting, sound, and communication design
  • Proficiency in operating theatrical lighting and sound equipment, sound and light board programming, and fly system operation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks

Job Duties

  • Operate a variety of technical equipment and tools such as audio systems, moving consoles, signal processing units, recording devices, computer control boards, stage rigging, lifts, and power tools
  • Collaborate with administration to develop a facilities and events plan to ensure smooth operation of facilities during events
  • Assist in the promotion of events by providing technical information and support for marketing materials, ensuring that technical requirements are accurately communicated
  • Collaborate with external vendors and contractors for specialized services, acting as a liaison with staff and community users regarding facility use
  • Manage the scheduling of district facilities for events and conduct post-event evaluations to improve operations
  • Set up and prepare the Performing Arts Center and other facilities for events including lighting, sound, and staging, offering technical guidance
  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation including equipment manuals, wiring diagrams, and event setup guides
