Job Requirements
- Valid Florida driver's license with favorable driving record
- Ability to work before, during, and after Declared Local State of Emergency
- Bachelor’s degree in Management, Sales/Marketing, Business, or related field or extensive professional experience
- Minimum three years of related professional experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to supervise staff and manage volunteers
- Experience with inventory control and retail sales
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related software
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Commitment to providing excellent visitor services
- Ability to attend trade shows and participate in outdoor site inspections and tours
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Management, Sales/Marketing, Business, or related field
- Minimum of three years of relevant professional experience
- Extensive professional experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- Proven supervisory and leadership skills
- Experience in retail sales management and e-commerce
- Strong knowledge of local tourism assets and visitor services
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, NCR Silver POS, and Submittable or equivalent
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
Job Duties
- Manage Visitor Services functions and operations across two Visitor Information Centers
- Track and analyze visitor data to inform strategic decision-making
- Coordinate group services for meetings, conventions, and leisure groups
- Lead outreach efforts at major events by managing informational and promotional displays
- Oversee inventory control and distribution of visitor guides and promotional materials
- Develop and expand the retail sales program including e-commerce management
- Recruit vendors and local artisans for Tallahassee-branded products
- Manage retail inventory, sales metrics, and sales accounting systems
- Design seasonal window and in-store displays
- Develop annual departmental plan and manage budgets
- Supervise visitor service representative staff and recruit volunteers
- Train and schedule staff and volunteers
- Manage staff personnel issues and approve timesheets
- Support Division Grant Program Manager with grant application cycles and award processes
- Coordinate assistance between grant recipients and Division resources to maximize investment
