Job Requirements

  • Graduation from a senior high school or equivalent
  • Some experience providing nature/environmental education programs to the general population
  • Ability to coordinate scheduling and communicate effectively
  • Experience with animal care preferred
  • Willingness to support public events
  • Ability to work Sunday through Thursday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Availability to work 30 hours per week

Job Qualifications

  • Graduation from a senior high school or equivalent
  • Some experience providing nature/environmental education programs to the general population
  • Coursework in nature, botany, horticulture, zoology or related field is desirable
  • Experience in nature-related work or public speaking is an advantage
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

Job Duties

  • Coordinate and schedule use of the Nature Center facilities and programs
  • Fullfill requests from the community ensuring uses align with the mission of Pioneers Park Nature Center
  • Assist in fulfilling staffing needs for Nature Center facilities, programs, and events
  • Oversee the care of exhibit animals and related supplies
  • Contribute to program planning and assist with implementation of special events and programs
  • Support Nature Center operations ensuring a welcoming, informative, and engaging experience for visitors
