Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • two years of experience in customer service in a business office environment
  • valid Georgia driver's license
  • ability to communicate well in person, in writing, and on the phone
  • ability to work effectively in pressured situations and diffuse escalating situations
  • self-starter with minimal supervision
  • availability to work evening shifts from 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM on Monday through Friday
  • willingness to provide coverage at multiple locations

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred)
  • experience in healthcare-related office or communications center
  • knowledge of medical terminology
  • experience handling multiple phone lines
  • excellent customer service and communication skills
  • strong problem-solving skills
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • adaptability to change while maintaining a positive attitude

Job Duties

  • Trends service data received via NRC Health related to behaviors and partners with Family Experience Specialists to establish best practices and process improvements
  • provides liaison services between customers and hospital staff by visiting and rounding on patients and families
  • documents all rounds in Rounds+ and sends service alerts while collaborating with unit leadership
  • ensures customers receive the best service by providing information and coordinating with other departments
  • acts as family contact, advocate, and resource regarding non-clinical concerns and hospital services including food, environment, and amenities
  • refers medical care issues to nursing leadership and partners with Patient Representatives on clinical concerns
  • advises relevant departments of patient and customer concerns requiring intervention
  • processes paperwork in accordance with HIPAA standards including consents for MyChart Bedside tablets
  • documents each round completion
  • follows up with patients post-hospital stay regarding services received
  • provides weekly and monthly reports to supervisors
  • provides coverage at all locations by picking up shifts or assisting at other campuses
  • maintains a great impression for the hospital and serves as a service excellence role model
  • performs other duties as assigned by manager or director
