Job Requirements
- Must be able to work in the evenings
- museum open Wednesday through Monday
- adhere to established departmental standard operating procedures
- well-groomed and attired in clean, crisp, well-maintained uniforms
- personable with excellent communication skills both in-person and on the phone
- computer savvy and able to operate POS system
- highly organized and able to handle multiple priorities
- punctual and reliable
- highly motivated, professional, creative, articulate, and goal-oriented
- ability to work independently and collaboratively
- ability to use a stepladder to reach merchandise
- flexible to work where and when needed
- passion for the arts preferred
- reliable transportation
- authorized to work in the US.
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED required, or National Career Readiness Certificate
- one or more years of customer or visitor service experience
- excellent communication skills
- strong desire to work with the public
- 18 years or older.
Job Duties
- Create an exceptional first impression with museum visitors
- greet everyone actively and engage all visitors from arrival to departure
- interact positively with visitors, members, trustees, donors, contractors, and vendors in person, by phone, and via email
- welcome visitors at the Admissions Desk, providing directions and answering questions
- communicate information about current and future programs and events
- enforce museum policies and guidelines to visitors
- ensure visitor problems are handled quickly and professionally
- answer phone calls and emails using proper etiquette
- manage and forward incoming calls and emails to appropriate team members
- check the number and type of reservations for the day using museum reservation systems
- recommend and complete sales transactions in the Museum Shop
- support café food sales and promote membership levels
- ensure accuracy and speed in all visitor transactions
- verify cash drop bag and cash drawer at shift end
- maintain displays and service areas by cleaning, stocking, and merchandising
- assist with café and meeting room setups
- float to help Café team during busy times
- perform other assigned duties as needed.
