Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in museum studies hospitality communications or related field
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in museum studies hospitality communications or related field
  • Experience in visitor services or volunteer coordination
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to design and implement training programs
  • Experience managing staff and volunteers
  • Knowledge of customer service and conflict resolution
  • Proficiency with scheduling software and CRM systems
  • Ability to analyze visitor feedback and improve engagement
  • Familiarity with museum operations and educational programming
  • Leadership and teamwork skills

Job Duties

  • Oversee visitor experience operations coordinating front-line services with educational programming
  • Collaborate with education staff to integrate learning into visitor operations
  • Ensure front desk staff communicate key messages about exhibits and events
  • Troubleshoot visitor flow accessibility and experience issues
  • Supervise daily front desk and visitor experience operations
  • Design and implement visitor engagement initiatives using feedback and collaboration
  • Oversee volunteer program including recruitment training supervision and record keeping
  • Maintain and update the museum’s master schedule coordinating with departments
  • Manage museum store merchandise inventory pricing promotions and staff training
  • Develop and implement training programs for staff and volunteers
  • Respond to visitor inquiries feedback and concerns professionally
  • Coordinate volunteer appreciation initiatives
  • Provide sales training and implement discount and rewards programs
