Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • medical assistant certification
  • medical front and back office experience
  • knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes
  • availability to work overnight, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
  • strong computer skills
  • typing 40+ words per minute
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to pass a writing test
  • willingness to adhere to no time off policy during onboarding/training and Jan 1 - Jan 30 due to high call volume

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • medical assistant certification
  • medical front and back office experience
  • knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes
  • high-volume inbound customer service experience especially in health plan or Medicare member services roles preferred
  • telemarketing or member outreach experience preferred
  • specialized experience in escalation or resolution units preferred
  • strong communication skills via email and phone
  • fluency in written and verbal Spanish, Korean, or Vietnamese a plus
  • ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals
  • ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • ability to speak effectively before groups
  • strong computer skills
  • typing speed of 40+ words per minute
  • excellent oral and written communication skills
  • impeccable grammar and spelling
  • ability to pass a writing test

Job Duties

  • Be knowledgeable in procedures, protocols, benefits, services, and any other necessary information to resolve member issues and inquiries
  • serve as a subject matter expert in the healthcare experience members navigate daily
  • resolve incoming calls concerning eligibility, benefits, provider information, clinical, and pharmacy needs
  • coordinate membership changes such as primary care physician updates and proactively engage members with wellness plan options
  • collaborate with partners including internal departments, supplemental benefit vendors, and provider networks to facilitate member experience
  • manage communication preferences including time of day, channel, language, and utilize interpreter services as needed
  • provide administrative support to virtual providers with referrals and authorization requests
  • coordinate member care for primary care plans, diagnostic tests, radiology, laboratory, and specialty appointments
  • schedule appointments and transportation as appropriate
  • manage clinical escalations and triage linking members to appropriate clinical resources
  • verify and connect members to outreach or care gap programs
  • monitor communication channels and manage timely replies
  • develop, write, and edit digital replies ensuring adherence to communication scripts or templates
  • deliver excellent customer service and contribute to a culture of exceeding member expectations
  • adhere to attendance policies to ensure consistent queue coverage
