Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age due to driving requirements
  • Minimum one year experience in conducting group activities
  • Knowledgeable in evaluating residents' needs
  • Experience supervising employees and training volunteers
  • Compliance with licensing agency requirements
  • Ability to drive community van
  • Ability to complete clerical work and manage budgets
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Job Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age due to driving requirements

  • Experience supervising employees and training volunteers
  • Ability to plan and implement diverse activity programs
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • College degree preferred
  • Knowledge of senior living industry standards and best practices
  • Ability to drive community van and possess necessary licensure

Job Duties

  • Provide a creative social atmosphere throughout the community and promote resident and family participation through regularly scheduled events and activities
  • Coordinate and attend all special functions and Vibrant Life activity programs for major holidays
  • Ensure activities and events acknowledge and meet cultural, religious and ethnic diversity and interests
  • Actively encourage and engage residents in Vibrant Life activities by personally leading them at least ten hours per week
  • Hire, evaluate, coordinate, motivate, monitor performance and supervise department staff
  • Make recommendations to the Executive Director on staff evaluations, merit increases, reprimands, disciplinary actions and terminations
  • Monitor compliance with department budget and completion of monthly spend downs
  • Ensure proper use and compliance with company policies regarding petty cash
  • Complete necessary vendor and entertainer check requests accurately and timely
  • Plan, schedule and conduct staff in-services as directed
  • Coordinate transportation needs for residents and maintain transportation schedule
  • Possess ability, licensure and willingness to drive community van
  • Stay current with senior activity trends through continuing education and networking
  • Support Executive Director in referral source development and collaborate with Sales and Marketing
  • Develop and manage New Resident Welcome and Resident Birthday programs
  • Recruit, manage and schedule community volunteers and maintain related logs
  • Ensure monthly Resident Council Meetings are held
  • Perform clerical work such as monthly activity calendars
  • Assist with special event set-up
  • Aid in marketing efforts through community tours and marketing events
  • Arrange coverage of duties during staff absences
  • Participate in daily stand-up meetings
  • Obtain and maintain required state certifications and licensures
  • Encourage teamwork and maintain professional image
  • Maintain safe and secure environment for all staff, residents and guests
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Executive Director
