Job Requirements

  • must hold commercial and instrument helicopter ratings
  • possess a valid first class medical certificate
  • minimum total flight time of 2,000 hours with required helicopter and command experience
  • meet body weight requirement of 235 pounds or less
  • pass pre-placement physical exam including functional capacity assessment to lift 100 pounds
  • able to pass drug screening and background check
  • reside within a 1-hour commute of Mesa, AZ base
  • availability for 7-on/7-off day and night schedule
  • interview and acceptance by PHI management

Job Qualifications

  • commercial helicopter rating
  • instrument helicopter rating
  • valid first class medical certificate
  • minimum 2,000 total flight hours
  • at least 1,500 helicopter flight hours
  • minimum 1,000 hours as pilot-in-command of helicopters
  • 500 hours in turbine helicopters
  • 100 hours in unaided night operations or 50 hours unaided plus 100 hours NVG
  • strong communication skills
  • demonstrated internal and external customer service skills
  • ability to pass background and drug screening
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills

Job Duties

  • operate AS350 helicopters under VFR and NVG conditions
  • conduct 24-hour day and night rotations
  • participate in community outreach programs
  • adhere to PHI Air Medical policies and safety protocols
  • assist in loading and unloading patients and equipment
  • perform line pilot duties in accordance with GOM
  • support safety management systems including Destination Zero
