Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- minimum one year of veterinary assistant or technician experience
- ability to restrain and work with animals safely
- proficiency in computer use and data entry
- valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- willingness to work flexible hours including occasional weekends
- ability to begin and end workday in Boston's South End
Job Qualifications
- at least one year of experience as a veterinary assistant or technician
- strong computer skills including fast and accurate typing
- knowledge of animal handling and veterinary medical procedures
- excellent communication skills with pet owners and team members
- ability to work independently and as part of a mobile team
- friendly, energetic, and detail-oriented personality
Job Duties
- assist veterinarian during house calls including restraining animals for medical procedures
- prepare and administer vaccines and medications as directed
- manage medical records and enter notes and charges accurately
- interact professionally and compassionately with clients and pets in their homes
- perform blood draws, urine collection, and other sample collections
- maintain organized inventory and prepare supplies for appointments
- provide excellent customer service and support throughout the visit
