Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum one year of veterinary assistant or technician experience
  • ability to restrain and work with animals safely
  • proficiency in computer use and data entry
  • valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • willingness to work flexible hours including occasional weekends
  • ability to begin and end workday in Boston's South End

Job Qualifications

  • at least one year of experience as a veterinary assistant or technician
  • strong computer skills including fast and accurate typing
  • knowledge of animal handling and veterinary medical procedures
  • excellent communication skills with pet owners and team members
  • ability to work independently and as part of a mobile team
  • friendly, energetic, and detail-oriented personality

Job Duties

  • assist veterinarian during house calls including restraining animals for medical procedures
  • prepare and administer vaccines and medications as directed
  • manage medical records and enter notes and charges accurately
  • interact professionally and compassionately with clients and pets in their homes
  • perform blood draws, urine collection, and other sample collections
  • maintain organized inventory and prepare supplies for appointments
  • provide excellent customer service and support throughout the visit
