Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in a veterinary hospital preferred
- ability to work full-time 12-hour shifts
- strong technical and manual skills
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- compassionate attitude toward animals
- willingness to work in a fast-paced environment
Job Qualifications
- licensed or experienced veterinary technician preferred
- knowledge of emergency care procedures
- familiarity with preventative care protocols
- proficiency in medication administration
- ability to maintain accurate medical records
- skilled in pharmacology calculations
- surgical support experience
- competence in diagnostic imaging techniques
- certified in CPR
Job Duties
- assist veterinarians with emergency and triage care
- administer medications and dispensed drugs
- obtain complete patient histories and maintain treatment records
- perform pharmacology calculations
- prepare for, monitor, and assist with surgeries
- place venipuncture and intravenous catheters
- conduct diagnostic imaging procedures
- perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) when needed
