Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- veterinary technician certification or license preferred but not required
- experience working in a veterinary hospital preferred
- ability to work three 12-hour shifts per week
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- compassion for animal patients
- capacity to work in a fast-paced environment
- willingness to learn and grow professionally
Job Qualifications
- Experience in emergency care and triage
- knowledge of preventative care
- ability to administer and dispense medications
- skills in patient history documentation
- proficiency in pharmacology calculations
- surgical assistance experience
- venipuncture and IV catheter placement skills
- diagnostic imaging proficiency
- CPR certification
- ability to work independently with empathy and technical expertise
Job Duties
- Provide emergency care and triage to patients
- administer medications and dispense pharmaceuticals accurately
- obtain complete patient histories and maintain detailed treatment records
- perform pharmacology calculations to ensure correct dosages
- assist with surgical procedures including preparation, monitoring, and recovery
- conduct venipuncture and place IV catheters
- operate diagnostic imaging equipment
- perform CPR when necessary
