Job Requirements
- Must have an Associate Degree in Veterinary Technology
- Willing to work four 10.5-hour shifts plus one Saturday morning out of four during the school year
- Able to lift and handle up to 50 pounds
- Highly motivated and committed to continuous learning and excellent service
- Demonstrate ethics and integrity
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Understand animal behavior and handling techniques
Job Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Veterinary Technology
- Certification is preferred but not required
- Able to lift and handle up to 50 pounds
- Highly motivated with a demonstrated passion for service and continuous learning
- Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organization and time management skills with attention to detail
- Strong understanding of animal behavior and handling techniques
Job Duties
- Engaging and communicating with clients promoting education and preventative care
- Assisting with patient history, restraint, charges, estimates and client education in the exam room
- Monitoring patient conditions during treatments, procedures and hospitalization
- Performing laboratory procedures and x-rays to assist in diagnosis and treatments
- Preparing medications for both outpatient and inpatients
- Administering anesthetics or sedatives to control pain under direction of a veterinarian
- Preparing surgical equipment, including sterilization, and ensuring that the operating room is properly stocked, sterilized and ready for surgery
- Spearheading dental health for companion animals by performing dental exams, x-rays and cleanings
- Assisting the receptionists as needed and assume their duties during their absence
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by management
