Job Requirements

  • Must have an Associate Degree in Veterinary Technology
  • Willing to work four 10.5-hour shifts plus one Saturday morning out of four during the school year
  • Able to lift and handle up to 50 pounds
  • Highly motivated and committed to continuous learning and excellent service
  • Demonstrate ethics and integrity
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Understand animal behavior and handling techniques

Job Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Veterinary Technology
  • Certification is preferred but not required
  • Able to lift and handle up to 50 pounds
  • Highly motivated with a demonstrated passion for service and continuous learning
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organization and time management skills with attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of animal behavior and handling techniques

Job Duties

  • Engaging and communicating with clients promoting education and preventative care
  • Assisting with patient history, restraint, charges, estimates and client education in the exam room
  • Monitoring patient conditions during treatments, procedures and hospitalization
  • Performing laboratory procedures and x-rays to assist in diagnosis and treatments
  • Preparing medications for both outpatient and inpatients
  • Administering anesthetics or sedatives to control pain under direction of a veterinarian
  • Preparing surgical equipment, including sterilization, and ensuring that the operating room is properly stocked, sterilized and ready for surgery
  • Spearheading dental health for companion animals by performing dental exams, x-rays and cleanings
  • Assisting the receptionists as needed and assume their duties during their absence
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by management
