Job Duties
- Greet and make friendly eye contact each time the hospital entry door opens to offer warm and professional acknowledgement
- always offer a friendly smile, strong eye contact, and an approachable demeanor
- act as a compassionate listener
- speak clearly, slowly, and calmly in person and on the telephone for clear client understanding
- assess each client’s immediate needs and the pet’s condition upon arrival
- determine whether an emergency is a "stat" or "standard" emergency
- respond to non-patient calls or visitors and connect them to the appropriate team member
- confirm all appointments in advance ensuring clients receive accurate preparation information
- provide emotional support and resource materials to grieving clients in a compassionate and discreet manner
- serve as a liaison between clients and service agencies during pet remains handling to ensure a complete, accurate, and compassionate process
