Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior customer service experience preferred
  • ability to handle sensitive and emotional situations with compassion
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • proficiency in telephone and in-person client interactions

  • strong organizational skills
  • willingness to learn and grow

Job Duties

  • Greet and make friendly eye contact each time the hospital entry door opens to offer warm and professional acknowledgement
  • always offer a friendly smile, strong eye contact, and an approachable demeanor
  • act as a compassionate listener
  • speak clearly, slowly, and calmly in person and on the telephone for clear client understanding
  • assess each client’s immediate needs and the pet’s condition upon arrival
  • determine whether an emergency is a "stat" or "standard" emergency
  • respond to non-patient calls or visitors and connect them to the appropriate team member
  • confirm all appointments in advance ensuring clients receive accurate preparation information
  • provide emotional support and resource materials to grieving clients in a compassionate and discreet manner
  • serve as a liaison between clients and service agencies during pet remains handling to ensure a complete, accurate, and compassionate process
