Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • availability to work Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 7am to 7pm
  • ability to communicate clearly and calmly with clients
  • experience in customer service or veterinary settings preferred
  • must be able to assess emergency situations
  • compassionate attitude and strong listening skills
  • ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in a veterinary or customer service role preferred
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to manage stressful situations with compassion and professionalism
  • basic computer and telephone skills
  • strong interpersonal and organizational skills

Job Duties

  • greet and make friendly eye contact with each visitor upon hospital entry
  • offer a friendly smile, strong eye contact and approachable demeanor
  • listen compassionately to clients
  • speak clearly, slowly, and calmly in person and on the telephone
  • assess each client's needs and pet's general condition upon arrival
  • determine whether an emergency arrival is a “stat” versus “standard” emergency
  • respond to non-patient calls or visitors and direct them to the appropriate team member
  • confirm all appointments in advance and provide accurate information about pet preparation
  • offer emotional support and resource materials to grieving clients
  • serve as liaison between clients and service agencies during handling of pet remains
