Job Requirements
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
- ability to handle stressful situations with compassion
- experience working in a veterinary or medical environment preferred
- effective communication skills both verbal and written
- basic computer proficiency including scheduling and payment processing software
- ability to maintain confidentiality and provide discretion during sensitive client interactions
- willingness to work flexible hours including occasional weekends
- physical ability to withstand unpleasant odors and noises
- comfortable working around animals and potential exposure to bites, scratches, animal waste, and contagious diseases
Job Qualifications
- Experienced receptionist with a minimum of 1-year veterinary experience preferred
- compassionate, calm, team player, multi-tasker and strong communicator
- highly organized and possess computer skills
- self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset
Job Duties
- Maintain the visual appeal of the hospital reception area
- greet and welcome clients and patients
- answer questions and triage client concerns
- answer calls or emails and direct to the appropriate party for resolution
- schedule appointments to maximize efficiency and daily flow
- check in and check out clients and process payments
- offer friendly emotional support in a compassionate and discreet manner during times of need
- withstand unpleasant odors and noises
- handle exposure risks like bites, scratches, animal waste, and potentially contagious diseases
