Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in customer service or receptionist roles preferred
- excellent phone etiquette
- strong multi-tasking abilities
- proficiency with computer systems and communication technology
- strong customer service skills
- ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
- willingness to work rotating weekends and select holidays
- availability for 30+ hours per week
- ability to handle payment transactions accurately
- strong attention to detail

- computer knowledge including keyboarding and use of communication tools such as e-mail and internet
- working knowledge of veterinary terminology with correct pronunciation and spelling
- excellent spelling and grammar skills

- ability to conduct oneself in a confident, calm, and professional manner under stress
- genuine liking for animals and working in animal care
Job Duties
- maintain and uphold the core values and mission statement of MPH
- greet clients and pets by name with a smile and a positive, solution-oriented attitude
- answer phones promptly and professionally using a multi-line phone system
- screen and route calls to appropriate staff
- schedule appointments and surgeries according to hospital scheduling guidelines
- enter accurate charges and explain invoices to clients
- collect payment including processing credit cards and handling cash
- verify eligibility of clients with charge accounts
- check and update client contact information and medical records
- fill prescription refill forms and provide routine administration instructions
- advise clients on preventative treatments and retail products
