Job Requirements

  • Experience in customer service or veterinary reception preferred
  • Ability to multitask and maintain attention to detail
  • Strong phone etiquette and communication skills
  • Proficient with computer systems and scheduling software

Job Qualifications

  • Proficient computer skills including keyboarding and use of email/internet
  • Working knowledge of veterinary terminology
  • Excellent spelling and grammar
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle stressful and emotional situations with tact and professionalism
  • Genuine liking for animals and their owners

Job Duties

  • Greet clients and pets by name with a smile and a positive, solution-oriented attitude
  • Answer phones promptly and professionally using a multi-line phone system
  • Schedule appointments and surgeries according to hospital scheduling guidelines
  • Enter accurate charges and explain invoices to clients
  • Collect payments including cash, credit cards, and checks
  • Verify the eligibility of clients with charge accounts
  • Maintain accurate client and patient records including updating medical and contact information
