Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in a veterinary or customer service role preferred
- strong phone etiquette and multi-tasking abilities
- proficiency with computers and common software applications
- attention to detail and efficiency
- ability to thrive under pressure

- excellent communication skills
- availability to work full-time, 30 plus hours per week
- capability to manage stressful or emotional situations with professionalism

- Demonstrated commitment to Mission Pet Health core values
- proficiency in computer use including keyboarding and communication tools such as email and internet
- working knowledge of veterinary terminology including pronunciation, spelling, and meaning
- excellent spelling and grammar skills
- ability to handle varied and sometimes difficult conditions including exposure to highly emotional situations
- ability to maintain tact and respect with clients and team members especially during busy or hectic times
- ability to conduct oneself confidently, calmly, and professionally under stress
- genuine liking for animals and their owners and passion for working in animal care field
Job Duties
- Maintain and uphold the core values and mission statement of Mission Pet Health
- greet clients and pets by name with a smile and a positive, solution-oriented attitude
- answer phones promptly and professionally using a multi-line phone system
- schedule appointments and surgeries according to hospital guidelines and make confirmation calls
- enter accurate charges and explain invoices including all services and products provided
- collect payments, process credit cards, handle cash, and verify client eligibility for charge accounts
- check and update medical and computer records for client contact information and scan appropriate new documents
- fill prescription refill forms and provide routine administration instructions
- advise clients on flea/tick preventatives, heartworm preventatives, pre-anesthetic testing, pain management, shampoos, home dental products, and other retail items
