Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in a customer service or administrative role
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Availability to work rotational weekends and holidays
- Ability to operate multi-line phone systems and basic computer software
- Positive attitude and strong organizational skills
Job Qualifications

- Computer literacy including keyboarding and communication tools such as email and internet
- Working knowledge of veterinary terminology including pronunciation, spelling, and meaning
- Excellent spelling and grammar skills
- Ability to handle varied and sometimes difficult emotional conditions
- Ability to display tact and respect with clients and team members
- Ability to conduct oneself confidently, calmly, and professionally under stress
- Genuine liking for animals and those who care for them
- Experience in customer service or veterinary reception preferred
Job Duties
- Greet clients and pets by name with a smile and a positive, solution-oriented attitude
- Answer phones promptly and professionally using a multi-line phone system
- Schedule appointments and surgeries according to hospital scheduling guidelines
- Enter accurate charges and explain invoices to clients before checkout
- Collect payment including cash, credit cards, and checks with proper identification
- Verify client eligibility with charge accounts
- Maintain and update medical and computer records including client contact information and scanned documents
