Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in customer service or veterinary receptionist roles preferred
  • ability to work evenings and Saturdays
  • strong communication and multitasking skills
  • proficiency with computer systems and software
  • ability to handle cash and process payments
  • professional and friendly demeanor
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • Demonstrated commitment to MPH core values
  • computer knowledge including keyboarding and communication tools
  • working knowledge of veterinary terminology including pronunciation and spelling
  • excellent spelling and grammar
  • ability to handle difficult and emotional situations
  • ability to display tact and respect in busy or hectic environments
  • ability to conduct oneself confidently and professionally under stress
  • genuine liking for animals and interest in animal care field

Job Duties

  • Maintain and uphold the core values and mission statement of MPH
  • greet clients and pets by name with a smile and positive attitude
  • answer phones promptly and professionally using a multi-line phone system
  • schedule appointments and surgeries according to hospital guidelines
  • note details discussed during client conversations in medical records
  • collect payments and process financial transactions accurately
  • advise clients on flea/tick preventatives, heartworm preventatives, and other retail products
