Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- experience in customer service or veterinary receptionist roles preferred
- ability to work evenings and Saturdays
- strong communication and multitasking skills
- proficiency with computer systems and software
- ability to handle cash and process payments
- professional and friendly demeanor
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Job Qualifications
- Demonstrated commitment to MPH core values
- computer knowledge including keyboarding and communication tools
- working knowledge of veterinary terminology including pronunciation and spelling
- excellent spelling and grammar
- ability to handle difficult and emotional situations
- ability to display tact and respect in busy or hectic environments
- ability to conduct oneself confidently and professionally under stress
- genuine liking for animals and interest in animal care field
Job Duties
- Maintain and uphold the core values and mission statement of MPH
- greet clients and pets by name with a smile and positive attitude
- answer phones promptly and professionally using a multi-line phone system
- schedule appointments and surgeries according to hospital guidelines
- note details discussed during client conversations in medical records
- collect payments and process financial transactions accurately
- advise clients on flea/tick preventatives, heartworm preventatives, and other retail products
