Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in client service or veterinary receptionist roles preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with computer systems and multi-line phone systems
  • Ability to multitask and manage stressful situations calmly
  • Detail-oriented with accuracy in recording and handling payments
  • Availability to work full-time, 30+ hours per week

Job Qualifications

  • Demonstrated commitment to MPH core values
  • Computer knowledge including keyboarding and use of email and internet
  • Working knowledge of veterinary terminology including pronunciation and spelling
  • Excellent spelling and grammar skills
  • Ability to handle varied and sometimes difficult emotional situations
  • Ability to display tact and respect with clients and team members
  • Ability to conduct oneself confidently and professionally during stress
  • Genuine liking for animals and working in an animal care field

Job Duties

  • Greet clients and pets by name with a smile and positive attitude
  • Answer phones promptly and professionally using a multi-line phone system
  • Schedule appointments and surgeries according to hospital guidelines
  • Enter accurate charges and explain invoices clearly
  • Collect payments and process transactions accurately
  • Verify eligibility of clients with charge accounts
  • Advise clients on preventive care products and retail items
