Job Requirements
- Availability to work full-time, including Saturdays from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm
- minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
- proficiency in computer skills including keyboarding and communication tools
- ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
- excellent client service and communication skills
- ability to handle payment transactions accurately
- familiarity with veterinary medical records and terminology
- ability to maintain composure in high-stress situations
- strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- experience in customer service or reception preferred
- working knowledge of veterinary terminology with ability to pronounce, spell, and understand terms
- excellent spelling and grammar skills
- demonstrated commitment to MPH core values
- strong computer knowledge including keyboarding and use of email and internet communication tools
- ability to handle varied and sometimes difficult conditions with tact and respect
- professional and confident demeanor during stressful situations
- genuine liking for animals and working in an animal care field
Job Duties
- Greet clients and pets by name with a smile and a positive, solution-oriented attitude
- answer phones promptly and professionally using a multi-line phone system, providing knowledgeable advice on wellness, prevention, and diseases
- screen and route calls to appropriate staff and take and deliver messages promptly
- schedule appointments and surgeries according to hospital guidelines and make confirmation calls
- note in medical records details discussed during client conversations including date, time, key points, and required information
- enter accurate charges and explain invoices showing value for care provided
- collect payments and process credit cards, including handling cash payments and proper ID for checks
- verify eligibility of clients with charge accounts and update medical records with accurate client information
- advise clients on preventative care products and retail items
- support veterinarians, technicians, and other staff in daily patient and client care
- maintain and uphold the Core Values and Mission Statement of MPH
