Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in veterinary or client-facing roles preferred
  • Knowledge of standard office and business equipment
  • Flexible schedule including some weekends and holidays
  • Ability to use veterinary software preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Organizational and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to handle stressful situations calmly

Job Duties

  • Give excellent customer service and communicate professionally
  • Maintain a positive attitude with clients, pets, and teammates
  • Show empathy towards clients and compassion towards pets
  • Educate clients on preventative care, health needs, and hospital services
  • Schedule appointments and manage client calls
  • Prioritize multiple tasks calmly and efficiently
  • Maintain accurate client and pet records including documentation
  • Assist clients by providing instructions, information, and invoices
  • Dispense prescription items as per veterinarian instructions
  • Utilize hospital computer systems for records and communication
  • Manage hospital financial transactions, ensuring accurate balances and adherence to cash and credit card procedures
  • Follow proper opening and closing procedures
