Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
previous experience in a customer service or receptionist role preferred
proficiency in computer systems and multi-line phone systems
excellent communication and interpersonal skills
ability to multitask and manage payment transactions
strong attention to detail and organizational skills
ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations
must be willing to participate in on-camera interviews and assessments for identity verification
commitment to uphold the clinic's core values and mission
availability to work full-time

Job Qualifications

Demonstrated commitment to MPH core values
computer knowledge including keyboarding and use of email and internet communication tools
working knowledge of veterinary terminology with the ability to pronounce, spell, and understand the meaning
excellent spelling and grammar
ability to handle varied and sometimes difficult conditions, including highly emotional situations
ability to display tact and respect with clients and team members even in busy or hectic environments
ability to conduct oneself confidently, calmly, and professionally under stress
genuine liking for animals and their owners
enthusiasm for working in an animal care field

Job Duties

Maintain and uphold the core values and mission statement of MPH
greet clients and pets by name with a smile and a positive, solution-oriented attitude
answer phones promptly and professionally using a multi-line phone system
answer client inquiries about basic animal care and veterinary services
screen and route calls to appropriate staff and take messages promptly
schedule appointments and surgeries according to hospital guidelines
note details discussed during client conversations in medical records
enter accurate charges and explain invoices
collect payment including cash, credit cards, and checks
verify eligibility of clients with charge accounts
check and update medical and computer records
fill prescription refill forms and provide routine administration instructions
advise clients on flea/tick preventatives, heartworm preventatives, pre-anesthetic testing, pain management, shampoos, home dental products, and retail items
