Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Experience in customer service or client-facing roles preferred
Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency with computer systems and software
Knowledge of veterinary terminology
Ability to handle payment processing and financial transactions
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to work a flexible schedule including Saturdays
Ability to remain composed and professional in emotionally charged situations

Job Qualifications

Demonstrated commitment to core values
Computer knowledge required including keyboarding and use of communication tools such as email and internet
Working knowledge of veterinary terminology with the ability to pronounce, spell, and understand terms
Excellent spelling and grammar
Ability to handle varied and sometimes difficult conditions including exposure to highly emotional situations
Ability to display tact and respect with clients and team members even during busy or hectic periods
Ability to conduct oneself in a confident, calm, and professional manner during stressful or task-focused situations
Genuine liking for animals and their owners and a passion for working in an animal care field

Job Duties

Maintain and uphold the Core Values and Mission Statement of the hospital
Greet clients and pets by name with a smile and a positive, solution-oriented attitude
Answer phones promptly and professionally using a multi-line phone system
Schedule appointments and surgeries according to hospital scheduling guidelines and make surgery and appointment confirmation calls
Enter accurate charges and explain invoices to show value for care provided
Collect payment when services are rendered including making change for cash payments and processing credit cards
Verify eligibility of clients with charge accounts and check medical and computer records for accuracy
