Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in customer service or veterinary reception preferred
- proficiency with multi-line phone systems and computer software
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
- attention to detail and organizational skills
- available to work part-time hours including occasional Saturdays and coverage for PTO and sick days
- ability to stay on camera during interviews and assessments as part of identity verification
- willingness to comply with company policies on professional conduct and client service
Job Qualifications
- Demonstrated commitment to MPH core values
- computer knowledge including keyboarding and use of communication tools like email and internet
- working knowledge of veterinary terminology with ability to pronounce, spell, and understand terms
- excellent spelling and grammar skills
- ability to handle varied and sometimes difficult situations involving emotional stress
- ability to display tact and respect with clients and team members even under busy or hectic conditions
- ability to conduct oneself in a confident, calm, and professional manner during stressful situations
- genuine liking for animals and working in an animal care field
Job Duties
- Maintain and uphold the core values and mission statement of MPH
- greet clients and pets by name with a positive attitude
- answer phones promptly and professionally, providing knowledgeable advice
- screen and route calls to appropriate staff and deliver messages
- schedule appointments and surgeries according to guidelines
- note detailed information in medical records during client conversations
- enter accurate charges and explain invoices showing value for care provided
- collect payments including cash, credit cards, and checks
- verify eligibility of clients with charge accounts
- check and update client contact information and scan new documents into medical records
- fill prescription refill forms and provide routine administration instructions
- advise clients on preventative products and other retail items
