- prior experience in customer service or receptionist role preferred
- excellent phone etiquette
- strong multitasking abilities

- proficiency with computers
- ability to work part-time including some weekends
- ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism
- genuine interest in animals and their welfare

- Demonstrated commitment to core values
- proficient computer skills including keyboarding and communication tools
- working knowledge of veterinary terminology with correct pronunciation and spelling
- excellent spelling and grammar
- ability to handle difficult and emotional situations with tact and respect
- confident, calm, and professional demeanor under stress
- genuine liking for animals and passion for animal care field
Job Duties
- Maintain and uphold the core values and mission statement of the hospital
- greet clients and pets with a positive attitude
- answer phones promptly and professionally using a multi-line system
- screen and route calls to appropriate staff
- schedule appointments and surgeries according to guidelines
- note details of client conversations in medical records
- collect and process payments including cash, credit cards, and checks
- verify client eligibility for charge accounts
- check and update client contact information
- fill prescription refill forms and provide administrative instructions
- advise clients on pet care products and preventative treatments
