Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of experience in emergency or specialty veterinary hospital preferred
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient with computer software including Word and Excel
  • Experience with office equipment such as fax machine copy machine and payment terminals
  • Basic math skills for payment processing
  • Knowledge of veterinary software and Care Credit is a plus

Job Qualifications

  • 1-3 years' experience in emergency or specialty veterinary hospital preferred (technician liaison customer service)
  • Professional pleasant engaged clear communicator attentive and respectful to referring veterinarians clients and co-workers
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks be confident and prioritize tasks appropriately in a high-paced setting
  • Computer experience with Word Excel and operation of office equipment such as fax machine copy machine credit card and check terminal and postage meter
  • Knowledge of related veterinary software and Care Credit preferred
  • Basic math skills to determine proper deposits and process payments

Job Duties

  • Greet clients and their pets with a warm and welcoming demeanor ensuring their comfort and satisfaction throughout their visit
  • Manage incoming phone calls and inquiries in a professional and courteous manner providing accurate information and scheduling appointments as needed
  • Process client payments and maintain accurate financial records including billing invoicing and insurance claims
  • Schedule appointments record keeping and organization provide estimates and invoices for payment
  • Coordinate patient intake and discharge ensuring proper documentation and communication with medical staff and clients
  • Maintain accurate medical records using the hospital's electronic medical records system
  • Facilitate communication between clients and medical staff ensuring timely response to inquiries and relaying important information to appropriate parties
  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area ensuring all necessary supplies are stocked and readily available
  • Work collaboratively and effectively with different departments within the hospital including medical staff technicians and other administrative staff
