Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • at least 1 year previous experience in veterinary practice or customer-facing role
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • compassionate and sympathetic with ability to maintain professional attitude during emotional and stressful situations
  • exceptional telephone and computer skills
  • team player willing to learn new techniques, offer creative ideas, and accept change
  • preferred previous experience using Practice Management System

Job Duties

  • Answer practice phone and route calls appropriately
  • maintain hospital appointment calendar including scheduling and reviewing online bookings
  • greet all visitors by name and notify technical staff of arrivals
  • monitor wait times and manage accommodations during busy periods or emergencies
  • participate in training new staff and disseminate knowledge
  • ensure the waiting area is clean and well-stocked using disinfectants when necessary
  • confirm all appointments by client’s preferred communication method prior day and adjust as needed
  • provide backup support to technical staff for room loading and patient discharge when staff are occupied
