Job Qualifications
- high school diploma
- previous experience working in a veterinary practice or customer-facing role
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- compassionate and professional demeanor in stressful situations
- strong telephone and computer skills
- teamwork and adaptability
- preferred: experience with Practice Management System
Job Duties
- assume primary responsibility for answering the practice phone and routing calls appropriately
- maintain hospital appointment calendar including scheduling appointments and reviewing online bookings
- greet all visitors to the practice and notify technical staff when they arrive
- monitor wait times and make accommodations during busy times or emergencies
- participate in the training of new staff members
- ensure the waiting area is clean and well-stocked, including disinfecting when necessary
- confirm all appointments by client’s preferred communication method prior to the appointment
- provide backup support to technical staff as needed
