Job Qualifications
- Previous veterinary clinic experience preferred (reception or technician)
- strong communication and customer service skills
- ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- compassionate, calm, and professional demeanor
- basic computer skills and familiarity with veterinary software preferred
- ability to work collaboratively with all team members
Job Duties
- Greet clients and patients warmly and professionally
- answer phones, schedule appointments, and manage client communications
- check clients in and out, process payments, and handle invoices
- maintain accurate client and patient records in the practice management system
- communicate medical instructions, estimates, and discharge information clearly
- maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming lobby and front desk area
- assist veterinarians and technicians with patient restraint and handling
- obtain patient histories and assist with triage when appropriate
- perform basic technical skills as trained such as nail trims, blood draws, vaccine preparation, lab work, radiographs, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring based on training and certification level
- assist with exam rooms, treatments, and surgical prep/cleanup
- clean, disinfect, and restock exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment
- monitor hospitalized patients and report changes to the medical team
- rotate between front desk and technical duties based on clinic needs
- step into either role to support patient care and clinic flow
- maintain competency in both receptionist and technician responsibilities
