Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year experience as veterinary receptionist or veterinary assistant preferred
  • compassionate, calm, and professional demeanor with strong communication and teamwork skills
  • highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • proficient with computers and capable of learning new systems quickly
  • skilled in patient restraint, sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing lab tests, radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring a plus
  • self-starter with a strong desire to continue learning and advancing skills

Job Duties

  • Maintain reception area appeal
  • greet and welcome clients and patients
  • answer questions and triage concerns
  • manage calls and emails
  • schedule appointments for optimal efficiency
  • handle check-ins, check-outs, and payments
  • restrain pets and triage incoming cases
  • collect and analyze lab samples
  • perform diagnostic imaging
  • administer medications
  • provide nursing care to hospitalized patients
  • communicate treatment plans to clients
  • prepare for and assist in surgery
  • manage anesthesia
